Video Consultations
Herbal medicine and nutrition are a conversation before they are a prescription. That conversation can happen from anywhere.
Patients travel to Dr. Schiff from the Florida Keys to Orlando, and readers of her book, Fertility Fuel, write from much farther. Not all of them can get to Wellington. For the herbal and nutritional side of Chinese medicine, they do not have to.
Dr. Susan G. Schiff, A.P., DOM, is an NCCAOM Diplomate of Chinese Herbal Medicine and has offered remote consultations for herbal and nutritional treatment for years. Video consultations are by appointment only.

What a Video
Visit Covers
Acupuncture needs the needles, so it needs the room. Chinese herbal medicine and whole food nutrition do not. A video consultation covers the part of Chinese medicine that is built on a careful history, the questions a good practitioner asks, and a plan you can follow at home.
A first video consultation runs like a first office visit without the treatment table: your history, your labs and prior protocols if you have them, what you have tried, and what you are hoping for. Dr. Schiff then builds a herbal or nutritional plan around your pattern and explains how to follow it.
Follow-up visits are shorter and are where the plan gets adjusted. Herbal formulas change as you change, and a regular check-in by video keeps that on track between office visits or from a distance.
Video is also how many out-of-area fertility patients begin. The planning, the nutritional groundwork, and the herbal support happen remotely, and the acupuncture is added when they travel in or on transfer day.
A custom Chinese herbal formula built from your history and pattern, with instructions for taking it and a plan for adjusting it over time.
Food and supplement guidance rooted in Chinese medicine and in Dr. Schiff's fertility work, tailored to what you are dealing with.
The months of preparation before a cycle can happen remotely, with in-person acupuncture added when you are in South Florida.
Existing patients use video for check-ins and formula adjustments when a trip to the office is not needed.

A video visit is a full consultation, not a shortcut. Here is how it goes.
Everything below is the same care as an office visit, minus the needles. If acupuncture turns out to be what you need, we say so and help you plan an in-person visit.
Call or Text to Book
Tell us what you are dealing with and where you are. We schedule a video time and send the link and a short intake to complete beforehand.
Gather Your Records
Recent labs, prior protocols, current medications and supplements. Having them on screen makes the first visit far more useful.
The First Consultation
A full history, the questions Chinese medicine asks, and a first read of your pattern. Plan on about an hour.
Your Plan
A herbal formula, a nutritional plan, or both, with clear instructions. We tell you how to get the herbs and how long to give the plan before we check in.
Follow-Up
Shorter video visits at intervals that fit your plan, to adjust the formula and track how you are doing.
In Person When It Helps
If acupuncture belongs in your plan, we fit it around your travel: office visits in Wellington, or on-site treatment on transfer day.
Questions patients askbefore booking a video consultation.
No. Acupuncture requires the needles and the treatment room. Video consultations are for the herbal and nutritional side of Chinese medicine, and for planning and follow-up between in-person treatments.
Consultations are available wherever you are. Whether Dr. Schiff can prescribe herbs for you depends on where you live and on what your plan calls for, and that is covered in the first conversation.
Custom formulas are prepared after your consultation and either picked up from the Wellington office or shipped to you. We explain the options and the timing at the end of the visit.
For herbal and nutritional care, yes. The history, the questions, and the plan are the same. What a video visit cannot do is the hands-on part of the exam and the acupuncture itself, which is why we are clear about what it is for.
Yes, and many do. A quick video check-in to adjust a formula or talk through a plan saves a trip when no acupuncture is scheduled.
Coverage varies by plan and by state. We can verify your benefits beforehand through the form on our New Patient Forms page, and we tell you the fee when you book.
