Her journey into the world of alternative medicine began when it became evident that her daily routine filled with the stresses of corporate America was negatively affecting her health. The demanding lifestyle led her to her first yoga class. This ancient science helped to restore not only peace and tranquility to Irene’s life, but also introduced her to a theory of how the body could restore its health naturally. Shortly after, she was introduced to acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Ironically, her hunt was not to cure a so called disease but yet to feel healthy for the first time as an alternative to the current western medicines she had been offered. Dr. García proceeded to complete her yoga teacher certification.

Motivated to learn more about the ancient theories of natural healing she began her studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chicago at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and continued studies at The Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Dr. García strives to integrate the Eastern and Western theories and philosophies of healing in her approach to using acupuncture. Over the last 4 years she has been given many opportunities to juxtapose Eastern theories for healing and relieving discomfort of many complicated Western diagnoses such as infertility, migraines, and chronic pain. She worked and studied for two years with Dr. Peilan Yao, M.D. (China), AP, a seventh generation herbalist who specializes in fertility and gynecological issues. This gave Dr. García invaluable experience and knowledge of how herbal formulas can truly reduce the pain and suffering of many gynecological issues. She is currently taking continued education courses with Dr. Bruce Robinson, M.D., a medical doctor and surgeon for thirty years who embraces both Western and Oriental medicines and understands how the two paradigms can best work together for the benefit of the patient. These studies allow her to better serve her patients allowing them to benefit from the best of both Eastern and Western medicines combined.
Dr. García’s goal is to see patients integrate acupuncture and Oriental medicine as part of their daily lives, eliminating potential health risks in advance while maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. In addition, her bilingual abilities allow her to communicate fluently with both the Hispanic and American population here in South Florida, allowing for a broader range of individuals that can benefit from this medicine.
